Additional Supporting Evidence
One of the strongest pieces of evidence in support of the theory today is the data gathered by the cosmic background explorer satellite which was launched in 1989. It took a team of scientists four years to map the cosmic background radiation data collected by the satellite. In 2001, NASA sent another space craft out to gather more information about cosmic background radiation. This one is called Wilkinson Microwave Anistrophy Probe and it is able to make more precise measurements thn have ever been made before. The scientist believes that slightly denser regions of the early universe are the areas where galaxies formed as a result of gravity. The less dense regions became emptier and emptier as the universe expanded. The results has confirmed that the data gathered by the 2 satellites has gave the scientists better understanding about the universe's early moments. |
